| At Bella Carta Studio, the process begins with our contact with potential clients. We explain what we do and discuss the design elements that drew them to our studio. At this time, we also provide some general price ranges for the different styles of invitations we create. That way the client knows up front the range in which their invitation will fall so there aren't any surprises later. Of course, invitations range in price depending on selected materials, complexity of design, number of inserts or elements, etc. Final costs are determined once the design is decided upon. | |||||

Once a client has decided that they'd like to work with Bella Carta Studio, the client pays a nonrefundable design fee. This ensures their spot in our production schedule and begins the actual production of design prototypes based on our current design schedule. A very in-depth interview process begins so that we make sure to understand all of the details necessary to complete the project successfully. At this stage, there is regular communication between the designer and client to ensure that we are meeting all of their needs and desires. This stage results in a number of complete prototypes to show to the client (either in person or online through personalized websites on which we post proofs and photographs). Once we have talked about what the client likes and doesn't like about the prototypes, changes are made and a final design is determined. When the final design is determined, 50% of the total invitation price is paid and production begins. At the end of production, the final 50% is paid and the invitations or announcements are mailed out, either to the client or to guests. The length of time our process takes depends on the complexity and level of detail of the design. Wedding invitations usually take the most time, and the process should begin at least 8 weeks before the mailing date (we prefer having as much time as possible). Other pieces may take as long, or can be complete in a much shorter time period, often only a couple of weeks. These issues are discussed upon initial client contact. Rush orders are sometimes accepted for an additional fee and are based on the current production schedule. Please ask! |
